Movers and Storers Show debate panel

The Movers & Storers Show 2019

Reason Global was delighted to attend the Movers & Storers Show 2019 as Silver Partners in November.

The UK’s biggest independent event for moving and self-storage operators took place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. It delivered two busy days of talks, provoking lots of discussion, panel debates, networking and purchasing.

Reason Global’s Nicholas Marshall took part in a lively panel debate on the topic of “Lowering the level of underinsurance in Self-storage” alongside Rennie Schafer the CEO of SSA UK and FEDESSA, Peter Doman of Basil Fry & Company and Neil Matthews of Pound Gates.

The debate centred around recent incidents in self-storage facilities which have had an impact of underinsurance on both the customers and operators, and offered advice to Movers & Storers on how to encourage customers to declare the correct value of their goods in storage.

Nicholas has extensive experience of the moving and storage insurance sector, with roles at General Accident and Bain Clarkson Insurance Brokers before almost 20 years working within the specialist transportation and storage division at Willis. During this period he undertook various roles including broking, client service delivery, claims and management.

An Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and ASCII-qualified trainer, Nicholas joined Reason Global in 2005 and is responsible for high-level service delivery to a significant portfolio of the company’s self-storage and moving client base.
