Brexit Update: Driving in Europe & Green Cards


Here’s what you need to know about your motor insurance policy and driving in Europe after the UK leaves the EU….

After 31 January 2020 there will be a transition period until the end of 2020, while the UK and EU negotiate additional arrangements. During this transition period, current rules on international driving will continue to apply and drivers will be required to take their motor insurance certificate when travelling in the EU. Green cards will not be required until 2021.
